A good one for couples, if you need to sell it. If you’ve not got much hols, girl or boyfriend don’t fancy yet another hire care odyssey across a cultural desert of a surf zone, New York might just do the trick.
It mightn’t be so much of planned surf safari to New York, but more like, plan your coupley shopping/culture/touristy trip there, then sagely check the forecast for the week leading up to it, and if she looks promising, throw your shred stick in with you. Cheeky!
Early autumn means warm water, and can also mean hurricane swells, just like the one that blessed the WCT.
With Long Island and Rockaway beach being your primary shred zones, it’ll just require a bit of time management to ride the wild surf of Big Apple as well as take in one of the truly fabbest cities in all of fabdom.
If you don’t like big cities, culture, music, art, fashion, architecture, shopping, bla bla bla then this probably isn’t the trip for you. You should try Gnarloo, you’ll find none of these there.
But if you like the contrast of urban chic, washed off with streaks of salt water rad, make Big Apple enquiries. If you find dancing to rhythm of the beating heart of metropolis the perfect apres surf delight, you’re in.
Like Padang Padang, so good they named it twice. Unlike there, you mightn’t have to pay someone to massage you. You might get one based purely on merit… the merit of merely having suggested going there, baby!
