You boyz ever been to Mejiiiiiico?

At an altitude of 2,500 metres, the urban sprawl of Mexico City is a ‘pinche desmadre’, counting some 20 million people. It’s the third largest capital city in the world.

Que honda güeros? I just got back from a 10-day surf trip to Mejiiiiiico with footwear brand Vans. I was there to film a couple of vodcasts and have been putting the footage together this week.

Mexico’s a super fun place to travel to. Offshores every morning until midday, the waves were pretty much pumping, water temps of 25 degrees plus, just a few cool locals out, and wildlife everywhere. There’s an unruly (i.e. they drive as if it was the ‘Dia de los Muertos’ every day of the year) yet cruisey vibe to the place. Pascuales has got to be one of the heaviest beach breaks out there, comes out of really deep water. Our crew managed to break 8 boards in the space of 4 days.

Santa Ana’s braaah, blowin’ all day.

Apparently I missed all the bombs coz I was too busy filming sleepy Mexicans wondering around on horseback weilding worryingly large machetes. But I reckon there’s still some good stuff. Click Vans Europe shred Mexicoto watch the footage. And here’s a few pics of the guys on the trip:

Simon Young aka Leafblower, weirdly enough he’s not dinking either a Corona, Sol, Bohemia, Tecate, XX, or Pacifico in this photo.

Stinky Von Rupp keeping it Mexican.

José Gregorio and pooch. By the end of the trip nearly everyone had Mexican dog fleas.

PE sported his Mexican wrestling mask pretty much the whole trip. Respect! Returning to Charles de Gaulle airport, he got a few funny looks flying his way.
