Alot of people think hip hop has got nowhere left to go, just a bunch of dickheads acting hard and crapping on about guns, jewellery and champagne. Well that’s clearly not the case, as East London rapper Lethal Bizzle’s recent cover of the Clash’s Police On My Back proves, with an inspirational lyrical flurry about the merits of the Fiat Punto. In reference to cars he used to steal, Mr Bizzle gives us,
“Mercedes with TV, Golfs, Astras, TT’s, anything you want yeah we can these.
Best sellers was PUNTOS, yeah don’t be laughing when I say PUNTOS, I supplied the whole of Walthamstow with PUNTOS, they’re cheap and they cute and everyone can afford…”
“So I’m in my PUNTO yeah, when I seee my boy dem in the rear view, somewhere in Chingford, back then I was a little Linford…”
and so on.
While it’s still unclear whether Mr Bizzle ever had, as I do, a 1995 Punto 1.6 ELX model, picked up for a mere 850 Euros two years ago, easily capable of fitting in 4 surfboards and three passengers inside, I’d like to commend him on his choice of vehicle, and wish him well with the single.
