Adrian Buchan is currently the world’s best goofy footer and many surf journos see him as the dark horse for this year’s title race. He just got off to a good start to 2009 with a 5th place at the Quik Pro on the Gold Coast. You can check all this out on the different websites. What they do not show is how the boys live up here. So let’s take a look at Ace’s crib on the Gold Coast.

The good life… This is Ace’s apartment on the Gold Coast. 14th floor, right in front of Kirra. To be exact in front of the Kirra groin. The place is amazing and it’s nice cause it’s away from hustle and bustle of Snapper where pretty much everyone stays.

King size bed, which Ace shared on weekends with his beautiful girlfriend Beck. No pic of my room. It was too messy…

Ace might not be a fitness machine like Fanning, but he trained hard prior to this season and his fitness trainer Luke was up on the Goldie for a few days. I call these things torture instruments.

Breakfast for champions. Ace lives really healthy. But no one can say NO to home made brownies (in tin box) from mum.

The fridge: Fruits, veggies and soy milk. The beer, which is hiding in the back, belongs to his manager, me, the white wine, rosé and champagne in the door to Pat O’Connell, his team manager who I had the pleasure to share a room with.

Ace got about 20 new boards from his shaper JS. Ace surfs for 6 Star Surfboards. At one point he had so many in the apartment, that he didn’t know where to put them. It’s a hard knock life… I was asking Beck, if she had a problem with me force feeding Ace to about 81 kilos. I would be able to surf his boards then. She didn’t like the idea…

More more boards. The two on the right where his favorites up here. Check this: Ace creased one in a free surf in the morning and Paul from 6 Star fixed it in record time, on a Sunday, so that Ace could surf it in his next heat in the afternoon. VIP treatment I say…

Boardies. Did you realize that they match his boards… Or visa versa?

“Look, a shark…” Not sure if you heard, but there were three shark attacks in two weeks on the East Coast. One in Bondi, one in the Sydney harbor and one in Avalon. Let’s just say that there was a slight paranoia all around…

“Nah, just kidding, it was Pat going over the falls…”

Not sure if there’s a pro with a PC on the WT. But anyway, Ace checking some Italian movie star’s website. Her name is Bellanonna I think…

Seems like Ace found what he was looking for on that Italian website. He looks happy.
