Jordy was out of action for a while with an injured shoulder following a nasty wipeout at the Pipe Masters, but over the last few weeks the big man’s been getting back in the water, and he would appear to be firing on all cylinders once again. In fact he’s looking positively devastating — those trademark wraps looking tougher than biltong, his explosive agility in the air reminiscent of a pouncing lion. He was seen ripping on the Goldie too during the recent run of swell there, and he’ll surely be a serious threat for the title this year if he manages to sustain some sort of form throughout — which of course is a big if.
