While the Tel Aviv surf scene some 100km north is thriving, the beach break peaks of the Gaza strip generally tend to be uncrowded most of the time while the locals deal with the day-to-day misery of life in a blockade, security issues, military strikes from Israel and grinding poverty. Surfers4Peace has donated equipment for a handful of locals to get amongst it, but we’re probably some way away from seeing a surf camp open up.
