After a record 13 days straight of ‘not a cloud in the sky’ and high temps for the month of march, some people are quick to think that summer is around the corner. Well for some it is, Evans & Laurel are at present documenting a big Euro push on the Teahupoo front and by the looks of it, they are scoring big time again (I am jealous). As I was saying, we had some reasons to find consolation in the SW France: sunshine, offshore days and two decent swells. You still need to don the 4/3 and booties but the suncream was also needed.
So lots of people were getting carried away the last few days, trying to get a sun tan on the beach bright and early, going for a dip without the all useful wetty and going on about how nice and early the summer is this year. But, it is a well known trick that the south west of France likes to pull on us every year, before the bad weather hits hard, with rain and north winds, in spring. And the dark season has a powerful ally this year… There is still tons of snow in the Pyrenees, tons of snow starting to melt, tons of snow happy to delay the return of thinner and shorter suits. Summer isn’t around the corner, trust me or you will suffer in your flesh and soul…
