We caught up with Australian super-coach and all round character Andrew King recently in Hossegor to recall the time he lost a purple 9’6″ in the Bay of Biscay for 3 months. And it could’ve been so much worse.
After chowing down on €16 worth of scrambled egg on toast at trendy Hossegor brunch spot Waxed, Kingy was good enough to remind of a very important moral, that surely applies to all surfers, everywhere:
Don’t surf 15ft La Nord after four pints with a comp leash, and in his case (Kingy has no inner ear balance, and so doesnt know which way is up when underwater) no floatation vest. Surf the 2ft shorey, instead.
