st, the board is heavier than the other sandwich boards like Salomon, Santa Cruz or Surf Tech…which is a surprise and a good surprise shall I say. For your average day & average surfer on the hossegor beachbreaks too much lightness doesn’t necessarly help.
nd, same than for those other brands, duckdiving control underwater is made harder because of the air inside. You end up always feeling a bit more of the turbulences and lose extra ground compare to a normal surfboard after a duckdive.
rd, the board really gets going on clean faces and adds also good speed on the flats. You can get plenty of speed on a fairly small section, giving you the opportunity to generate more moves per wave.
th, the balsa stringer also gives a good spring to your turns, with added speed when exiting your manoeuver.
th for airs, obviously works for Taj, but can’t really say myself as I never managed to get a good one in before and in this case the fire wire didn’t help, unfortunately.
we’ll keep you posted on the european distribution until that thumps up for the fire wire
