New South Wales’s Scott Dennis fears neither bloodthirsty shark nor mutant slab.
Dennis hails from Bawley Point on the south coast, just a short drive from Bannister Head, where last Friday a teenager filmed himself on his GoPro getting attacked by a shark. Sharks have been making their presence felt further north as well – headbutting fishing boats, attacking pods of dolphins, that sort of thing – forcing authorities to close beaches around the Newcastle area last week. Arguably even more terrifying, however, and just as likely to gobble you up for breakfast, are some of the slabs dotted along the same stretch of coast. The sharp teeth of the reef are never far away in this short film, but Dennis takes it all in his lengthy stride.
