Australian shaper Chris Garrett makes excellent surfboards and is also an excellent bloke. He’s made boards for a number of top Aussie surfers over the years, most notably Dave Rastovich, but he doesn’t operate on the kind of scale that enables him to give away large numbers of free boards to pros. Chris was based out of Burleigh Heads for 20 years but now lives just over the New South Wales border near Kingscliff, where he built his new house and shaping shed, and where he and his family try to live off the land as much as possible.
