Yessir!
The Oakley Surf Shop Challenge is set to return to the golden shores of Anglet, France this weekend as sixteen teams from across the Continent convene on the Basque coast to duke it out to win bragging rights as the raddest surf shop in Europe – as well as a trip to California.
Stand out names include pros Romain Lauhle, Aldric God and Tristan Guilbaud from France and Mario Azurza and Ethan Eguiguren from Spain. (What do you mean you’ve never heard of any of em? Wash your mouths out with soap!) And that’s just the chaps… Former Women’s WCT surfer Caroline Sarran of France and red hot Spanish ripper Lucia Martino will be making sure it’s not a total sausage fest.
With teams headed this way from Portugal, Spain, the UK and even Germany to take on the Frenchies, the event certainly has an international feel to it. Last year, SB3 of Labenne, France pipped the Pukas boys from the Basque Co by the narrowest of margins. Can they defend their crown? Can Newquay’s Surfing Life Team bumrush the show? Will Pukas be out for revenge? It’s so exciting I think I might poo…
In other news, it’s the San Seb Surfilm Festibal this weekend! With the sat night Local Warming shorts presented by Surf Europe!
It’s also open day at the farm where I get my organic veg on the market on Saturday! Jardins de Castelnau journee de portes ouvertes!
That’s settled then, I’m definitely going to poo.
