WQS Women’s Number 13 Nikita Robb Signs with Lizzy

Current women’s number 13 on the WQS, Nikita Robb, signs with the international surf company Lizzy. Nikita, who has just recently finished high school, has committed herself over the next couple of years to qualifying on the women’s World Championship Tour and has her eyes on becoming World Champion. She is well on her way already, finishing 13th in her first event of 2007.

Nikita, who comes from East London in South Africa, has an even greater chance considering three other surfers from her same town have already qualified for the WCT, namely Greg Emslie, Royden Bryson and Rosanne Hodge.

Nikita has numerous national and international junior results which include: the South African Pro Surf Tour Girls Champion in 2006, the US Open Girls Champion and the Rip Curl Gromsearch International Champion in 2005. She is looking set to become one of the greats in women’s surfing.

Lizzy, which is the women’s division of the international surf company Lizzard, are really excited to have Nikita on their team and really want to help Nikita to qualify on the women’s WCT. “The first time I saw Nikita surfing, I immediately noticed something in her surfing that none of the other girls had,” said Lizzy International Team Manager, Gavin Roberts. “I think her backhand, which is so smooth and powerful, will help her qualify for the WCT soon.”

Heather Clark, also a Lizzy rider, who has just recently retired from the women’s WCT also feels it is only a matter of time before Nikita qualifies. Lizzy are also happy to find someone to fill the shoes of Heather Clark who has been pushing the limits of women’s surfing on the international scene for so many years now.

Lizzy wish Nikita all the best in reaching her goals in 2007 and they are happy to have another girl representing their brand on the international scene, and hopefully can have their first women’s world champ.
