The International Surfing Association (ISA) are pleased to announce their support of the surfboard security product Surfboard Tracker (SBT). The ISA believes that SBT will be of great value to the surfing community, providing security in what is becoming a rapidly-growing worldwide commercial market.
SBT offers an outlet that supports board manufacturers, retailers, surf schools, surf federations as well as the greater surfing community to help protect themselves against theft of surfboards and unlicensed board manufacturers.
SBT has developed a global online surfboard database using a combination of the internet and micro-chip technology, where all surfboards can be registered.
The system offers services to help manufacturers protect their brand, inventory and license all online. This service helps reduce the amount of fake and unlicensed boards entering in the market and looks after the shapers’ interests. SBT assists retailers to distinguish genuine surfboards from others, plus empowering the retailer to make board checks prior to sale or resale anywhere in the world.
The support of SBT is a true example of the ISA’s commitment to assist and advance the development of the surfing world. Andrew Smith of SBT says: “Recognition from the ISA is an absolute privilege and will help our development as a company, but more importantly SBT can work closely with the World’s Governing Authority of Surfing where we can assist and offer solutions directed to the development of our great sport”.
Grant “Twiggy” Baker, Mavericks Surf Champion from Durban, South Africa, has joined up with Surfboard tracker to promote the new device. Smith, President of SBT said, “We are over the moon to have Grant’s involvement in the company. Grant, who is the reigning Mavericks Champion is well placed to help us as a “Team Rider” . Grant’s inclusion to help promote SBT’s awareness in South Africa adds to our continued international focus”.
