Following last week’s massive swell at Nazaré, big wave legend Laird Hamilton reached for the limelight by discrediting both Carlos Burle and Maya Gabeira‘s actions on CNN TV.

In his opinion, Carlos Burle’s ride didn’t count because he didn’t complete the ride. As for Maya Gabeira, she simply had no business being there. So much for Hawaii’s cool aloha spirit and big wave camaraderie, Laird says nothing supportive about the day’s events.
