A giant North Atlantic swell is forecast to hit European shores this coming Sunday and Monday (depending on where you are). With an interval period of a crazy 19 seconds – pretty much unheard of at that size for the North Atlantic – few lineups will be able to handle the initial impact. Initially accompanied by strong southerly winds, Mullaghmore Head, Belhara and Nazaré might all offer small windows to those on the sniff for XXL opportunities.
That said, we should see some great conditions later in the week as the swell backs off, with offshore conditions forecast to kick in Wednesday/Thursday along with a much less welcome continental cold snap.
As is often the case with these kinds of very long interval swells, Morocco is most likely the place to head to if you ain’t got anything on!
