Animal’s Elliot Dudley Wins Second Eurosurf Longboard Title

Congratulations to Elliot Dudley for successfully defending his European Championship title in near perfect 4- 5ft waves. Over 250 surfers from 15 different nations gathered in Anglet on the southwest Atlantic coast of France to compete for the Eurosurf Championships.

Among these surfers was Animal rider Elliot Dudley who had travelled from Cardiff with the challenge of retaining the title he has held since 2005. Elliot was in great form for the Europeans having recently won both the Welsh and British titles. Elliot said, “I’m stoked to have retained the title. Winning the title in 2005 goes down as my biggest achievement and gave me extra incentive to challenge for it again. The final was pretty nerve racking. After 10 minutes of the 25 minute final I was struggling in last place but picked up the biggest wave of the heat and scored an 8 which put me right back in it. With two waves counting I got a 6.97 with five minutes to go which turned out to be good enough for the title.”

Elliot was representing the Welsh team and his result boosted the team to an overall 4th, narrowly missing 3rd place.
