Unfortunately poor conditions on the North Shore have meant organisers have had to cancel this year’s Backdoor Shootout. Much like a lot of the big wave invitational events, if the conditions don’t come together within the waiting period the Backdoor Shootout doesn’t actually run at all. It’s a great way for the event to maintain its imagine and remain an authentic Pipe event. But it’s not all bad… the Mavs Invitational is set to run this Sunday!
