Field trips: didn’t you used to just love ’em? Although, thinking about it, most of the field trips I went on when I was a youth were to places like the Lake District and Great Yarmouth — and back then I was old enough truly to enjoy neither the Wordsworthian natural beauty of the former nor the heroin epidemic and high teenage pregnancy rate of the latter. Panama has its fair share of both natural beauty and Class A drugs; and while I have no idea about its teenage pregnancy rate, it does offer something the aforesaid destinations do not (sorry Yarmouth), namely pumping surf.
