Horse-Powered Tow Surfing

Ridiculous and puerile, to be sure, and not particularly fast, but also vaguely amusing, n’est-ce pas? Most jet skis, to put this into perspective, will have well in excess of 100 horsepower — maybe he should harness up a few more for some extra oomph! You may have noticed that the video is entitled “Surf Camarguais”, the Camargue horse being “an ancient breed of horse indigenous to the Camargue area in southern France.” Our good friend Wikipedia tells us the following:

“Its origins remain relatively unknown, although it is generally considered one of the oldest breeds of horses in the world. For centuries, possibly thousands of years, these small horses have lived wild in the harsh environment of the Camargue marshes and wetlands of the Rhône delta, which covers part of the départements of Gard and Bouches-du-Rhône. There they developed the stamina, hardiness and agility for which they are known today.”

There they developed, in other words, into the ultimate tow-horse!
