During this morning’s XXL Zon North Canyon session at Nazaré with Garrett McNamara, it’s been reported that Maya Gabeira was pulled out of the water unconscious and immediately taken to the A&E department of Leiria hospital.

Initial reports appear to be positive, with the Brazilian big wave specialist (who’s already lived through her fair share of near-death experiences) undergoing successful resuscitation on the beach after having spent considerable time underwater while being rescued.
