In this episode of Who is JOB, Jamie O’Brien decides to christen his collectors iconic Lightning Bolt board he had shaped by legendary Pipeline style master Gerry Lopez to find out what it really felt like to ride the lightning back in the 70s before talking to the Pipe legend himself.

“The beauty of the old single fin was that you caught the wave earlier enough that you could kinda set it up, and you couldn’t get that ambitious, just like not do too much of anything…” explains Gerry. “And not try and pump the board in the tube…Just straight trim it. Just let the board do everything.”

With the Lightning Bolt single fin safely hung up back on the wall, O’Brien decides to throw caution to the wind. With one of the best string of Pipe swells seen in years, the North Shore charger even tries his luck at his first step-off attempts.
