The pure variety of the coastline and lineups in Brittany, from its beachies to points and reefbreaks, means there’s always something to chase up but local knowledge plays a particularly important part in scoring the best windows of opportunity in this exposed part of the world. From being in tuned with the best tides and sandbanks to knowing the different coastline orientations and basically just not getting completely lost!

In the final part of their ‘Live the Search’ series, local ripper Ian Fontaine showed Jayce Robinson and Lyndon Wake round this much less documented and guarded French surf region, before the two then head south down to Hossegor to enjoy Aquitaine’s world famous thumping beachbreak set-ups.
