As we highlighted in one of our previous Nature Notes features, seals are charismatic creatures, full of intrigue and natural curiosity, and certainly one of the raddest species of wildlife you’re likely to encounter on your oceanic travels.

To prove our point, this recent GoPro edit posted by Matthew Stanley shows just how friendly the UK’s ‘common’ seal can be, a little seal pup joining them for a cruisy longboard session. Watch for the seal pup’s awesome body surfing skills at 1:30 seconds.

Of course, if this happened in South Africa or South Australia you probably wouldn’t want to hang around for long. Some seals are actually known to have jumped up onto boats to escape attacks from Great Whites.
