For the latest episode in his ‘My Road’ series, Nicolau heads to South America and the famed left-hand points of Chile in the company of fellow Euro shred cats Reubyn Ash and Alex Botelho. While initial plans to head to the southern part of the country had to be abandoned due to bad weather, the boys persevered making their way back up to the left-hand heavy reefbreak of Arica before hunting down other rippable left-hand points around Santiago.

“Surf trips are not easy all the time,” explains Nicolau, “It’s not all about showing up and surfing. Sometimes there’s this long process of trying to find waves.”

But after totalling an impressive 6000km on the car metre, waves they did find and you won’t be disappointed with what the trio scored.
