There are surely few worse scenarios to find yourself in in the sea than hurtling uncontrollably straight into a giant jetty, in a kayak, backwards. A situation you’d want to get yourself out of fairly quickly having miraculously escaped the initial impact unscathed. Or so you’d think at least…
In this instance, as if hoping to save some kind of face or simply pretend nothing ever actually happened, this kayaker decides to take a pew on the jetty and wait for a second even larger wave to pick up her kayak and clobber her over the head with it.
N.B. Yes, the Anglet jetty in question is the very same as that recently featured in Surf Europe editorial SE106.
