Four and a half minutes of leisurely New Zealand left-handers, waves very fun, surfing largely unremarkable, all very inviting but nothing really to get excited about… followed by one minute of the most sublime schadenfreude. The 4:47 mark is what you’re after — one boat, two hapless crew, several surfboards, and waiting on the onside a crop of exposed rocks. It is, in the words of one onlooker, “a complete yard sale, man”.
