It is purely the addition of differents factors and combining them, you’ve got Ecuador sticking out of the top of the list.
I wanted to go somewhere with warm air & water, somewhere I never been to, surf pointbreaks, fairly out of the beaten track, fairly uncrowded, relax
I’ve got only a couple of weeks to play with and last but not least, I cyber ran into a pretty cool guy and his website, Ricardo ( galapagosurf.net ) who knows how to speak to surfers..
A few years back, I would have not even bother checking the internet to see what the surf was like there, i would have barely try to get the surf report on it, kind of ‘jump in the plane and see’ strategy but years have past, family has grown and travelling time is now restricted…but I am happy to play now by the new millenium rules, the surfing world is a little village where time differences are the only obstacles to global brotherhood, there are webcams, world surf reports and forecasts and cool people you can meet and discuss with through the web…so why not taking advantage of it!
Go and have a look at ricardo’s website, it is the kind of cyber nuggets that makes you want to jump on the next plane and score…
I’ll try to blog from Ecuador and the Galapagos internet connexion permitting, so stay tuned
later
