Big up the love, big up the unity.
The first ever Surf Europe Readers’ Choice awards went down last nite at the swanky Casino d’Hossegor. I’m struggling to type so let’s keep this short n sweet…
Jeremy Flores took the main honours winning no.1 male surfer. Jeremy was voted the most popular surfer in Europe by you guys, the readers, and was stoked to pick up a nice perspex trophy cut to the logo of the event designed by our very own Ruth Roberts.
“I just want to thank everyone who voted for me,” a dapper M. Flores told us after exiting the stage,”It means a lot not just to try to win contests but to be recognised by the public also. I’m super stoked. I think
this is a great night for European surfing, for all of us.”
In the number two spot Tiago Pires, fresh from beating Kelly in Bali was in fine form, proudly collecting his honours in front of a packed house, including his mum. The honours list went like this:
Lee Ann Curren
NKOTB: Marco Lacomare
Lifetime Acheivement: Seb St Jean
Video Part: Jonathan Gonzalez
