YG3 supergrom Clay Marzo has been in town, staying in the Spy house. The eyewear brand has rented a massive Basque-style mansion just round the corner from Lafitenia, the right-hand pointbreak not far from St. Jean de Luz, until the end of the month to do flash photo shoots, throw crazy parties and rip the hell out of the surrounding breaks. The pad is sick, and has an amazing view of the sea. The only problem is it’s gone completely flat since the guys showed up. Well, that and “the house is so big it feels a bit creepy at night”, says Spy team manager John Oda. But PE doesn’t think there’s anything wrong with creepy. In fact, he loves creepiness… We went round there to check it out, hook up with Clay and roll out a Factory episode with the young star. I’m just putting the finishing touches to it this week. It should go up on the site some time next week so stayed tuned. In the meantime, let’s hope the swell picks up so we get to see the guys get their shred on.
