The weather and swell charts never provide anything to celebrate with…Despite four different events; Pro Junior followed by the Gromsearch finale, the WQS Super series and the WCT Women, the ocean didn’t cooperate one bit but definitely offer to the onlookers a good summary of the past twenty years of surfing conditions: stormy conditions, howling onshores, large ground swell, sunny head high days, only thing missing really were the barrels who made the Rip Curl Pro such a great event in the past.

If I had to remember one thing for this XX edition, it would be the clash between brazilian Leonardo Neves and Ozzy veteran Mick Campbell, state of the art surfing and the only 10 of the contest for Mick who went on to win the Super Series and secure his spot in next year WCT!
