27, Biarritz

‘This is my place in Biarritz. I moved out of Anglet and haven’t surfed there since they took all the sand off the beach. It sucks now.’

1. 6’2” BLACK BEAUTY

My favourite board for no other reason than Curren is my favourite surfer. I’m just another Curren groupie. I surf it at points or even beachbreaks when it’s really good.

2. PIONEER T1 DECKS

I DJ at parties or just mix by myself at home, rather than go out. I went to the Canaries recently and took them and DJ’d a bit, pretty fun.

3. TAYLOR MADE ROSSA PUTTER 34”

Been playing golf for 5 years now on and off. At my peak I was playing 3 times a day. It’s my favourite thing along with surfing, I usually play at Chiberta in Anglet. I’m not into the chin putter things, I reckon everyone should use the same stuff.

4. BACKGAMMON

Leather Backgammon set with nice felt interior. I don’t even know whose it is, but it’s mine now. We hang out in Biarritz and drink coffee or beer and play backgammon when there’s nothing else to do, which is most of the time. It’s pretty rock n’ roll.

KEITH RICHARDS’ ‘LIFE’

This is the book I read most recently. It’s OK, you never know with these autobiographies… but it was more about the music than I thought it would be.

6.EPSA TROPHY

This is the European title I won the year I qualified, 2008 I think. I just pulled it out from under the sideboard all dusty with a rotten flower in it.
