Tyler Wright Wins Maiden World Title in France

22-year-old Australian breaks the decade long Gilmore-Moore duopoly

Tyler Wright not only won her maiden world title at Gardians yesterday, but won hearts and minds of those hitherto unacquainted with her personal story of a troubled year.

With the passing of an uncle and the ongoing brain injury her brother owen suffered last December at Pipeline, Tyler’s crowning as the 2016 WSL Women’s World Champion before the final of the Roxy Pro France provided just reward for the immense sacrifices the 22-year-old has made in her quest to break the near decade long Gilmore/Moore duopoly.
