On the 11th November, surf veteran Steve Mckibben will be opening the brand new McKibben Studios – a gallery dedictaed to surf art.
Steve, a 30 year veteran of the surfing and actions sports retail industry, has opened McKibben Studios to showcase the incredible images that have inspired millions to live the surfing and island lifestyle.
The gallery will feature originals, limited edition giclee prints on canvas, surfboard art and sculpture. The gallery’s premier exclusive featured artist is the legendary Rick Rietveld who has been an art icon influencing the heart of the surf culture for 25 years. Rick was co-founder of Maui and Sons and creator of the company’s artistic images. Now, for the first time a portion of Rick Rietveld’s twenty-five year long career body of fine art will be offered in a gallery presentation.
Other featured surf artists include: Greg Noll, big-wave surfing legend & surfboard shaper along with his son Jed Noll who is now a prominent shaper in the area. Bill Ogden, godfather of surf art culture; Drew Brophy, pioneer of illustration on surfboards; Phil Roberts, sculptor, surf & portrait artist to the stars; Norm Daniels; Annemarie Hall; Greg La Rock; Regina Hurley and David Heath.
