Surf Team Gains Momentum with its 2007 Roster
etnies would like to take a moment to proudly welcome Mason Ho and Ryan Carlson to the team! With Hawaiian champion Michael Ho as his father, and Derek Ho, the first Hawaiian ASP world champion for an uncle, 17 year-old Mason’s North Shore roots run deep. He calls V Land home, punts airs with the best of them and maintains his smooth style while charging big Sunset. etnies also just inked a new deal with goofy footed aerial specialist, Ryan Carlson.
Hailing from ‘Surf City’ Huntington Beach, surfing the pier gave Ryan Carlson his Southern California style. Known for boosting big airs, Carlson has 360s, 540 rodeos and backflips on lock. In the last couple months, he won the Kostal Kaos/No Fear Airshow and the Sun Diego Matix Pro Airshow.
This year, Mason Ho competed on the WQS, won his first pro contest—the MACY’s E-Series ProAm, and opened eyes by making several heats as a trialist at the US Open of Surfing. Ho is planning to charge the WQS and ASP Pro Junior series for the next few years in order to crawl up the ladder to his final destination—a spot on the WCT. Look for his part in the upcoming Lost Across America 3 video that will be released for the holidays.
“Mason and Ryan are RAD! I love these two knuckleheads,” said Dave Boehne, etnies surf team manager. “They both have freakish natural talent – true standouts every time they paddle out, and they have that rebel thing going on in and out of the water.”
