Round three of the eight-round No Fear Koastal Kaos Surf Series will take place adjacent to the South Jetty of Oceanside Harbor in California on Saturday and Sunday, December 30-31. Following the same “two series in one” format — the Koastal Kaos amateur series and the No Fear Airshow — the San Diego-concentrated surf tour will host both amateur and professional surfers.
Round two of the No Fear Koastal Kaos Series took place at November 11-12 Crystal Pier and a total of 112 surfers filled the Grom (12 and under), Boy’s (13-14), Junior (15-17), Open Men’s, Women’s and Master’s classifications. The Oceanside series round also promises to draw a large roster of talent in all divisions.
“Our goal with the new Koastal Kaos Surf Series has been to create a weekend surf festival-type of environment where amateurs will surf on Saturday and professionals will surf on Sunday,” offers Britt Galland, No Fear Vice President of Marketing.
“The amateur finalists will also surf on Sunday. We have great sponsors and boatloads of prizes and cash and we’re backing all that up with highly competitive, high energy, fun events. I guess you can say remaining true to our masterplan of becoming thee surf series in San Diego.
“Due to the success of the series, we’ve decided to give back a little more beginning with the Oceanside round,” added Galland. “The Open Men’s division has become our premier, most competitive class, so we’ve bumped the prize money up. Each of the heat winners will claim $20, while the winner of the Open Men’s final will receive $100.
“The Koastal Kaos series isn’t about us making money, but more about giving back. The more surfers we get involved, the more money we’re going to hand out.” With entries going fast, don’t miss out. Be sure to register for the No Fear Koastal Kaos Surf Series by visiting the website.
