The 12th annual Rusty Gromfest readies for Australia

Calling all 16 and under Grommets – the biggest contest for young surfers around the world, the Rusty Gromfest, is coming to Australia.

This is a highly respected event and is designed to support future professional surfers on their path to success. This is your chance to follow in the footsteps of some of the competition’s previous winners such as – Mick Fanning, Julian Wilson, Steph Gilmore, Jessie Miley-Dyer and Bede Durbridge.

The event runs from 6th to 10th of July and will be held at Lennox Head.

Although now in its 12th year the format for this year’s Gromfest will be the same as ever. The very best of young Australian surfers together with a huge International contingent from Peru, America, Samoa, South Africa and New Zealand, competing for Gromfest glory. These kids are itching to showcase their talent in front of the National Media, International Surf Industry Scouts and a crowd of thousands.

Prizes for the individual categories are yet to be announced but this is definitely an essential contest for aspiring surfers and an excellent opportunity for young riders to test themselves against their peers.

The heat draw and format will be available on the official’ Rusty website www.gromfest.com.au approximately one week before the event.
