Shark School

Following a recent spate of shark attacks and sightings Downunder this winter, the latest news comes in the form of a surf instructor who apparently risks losing his surf school licence because he didn’t attempt to warn his students after sighting a great white just 30-odd metres away from his class.

The pea-brain mince meater, believed to be nearly 10-foot long, was spotted at Blueys Beach in New South Wales. As quoted in the local press, Gary Hugues, who runs a surf school there believed no one was in danger and chose not to sound the alarm bell, “I did not tell the students because they just would have worried… It was just having a cruise, it wasn’t showing attack behaviour.”
