Top surfers from all across South America are set to light the “SoupBowl” in Bathsheba on fire on November 3-5th. The South Americans will have to battle for the top spot and should expect tough competition from the Islands best surfers and the usual strong contingent from the USA, Europe and Caribbean region.
The “Reef Classic 2006” has a total prize purse of US $10 000 will be deem a specialty event this year and will no longer be referred to as The Independence Pro.
ALAS (Association Latin Americana de surf) a vibrant organization operates a Professional surfing circuit through out South America,” REEF” is the blanket sponsor for this tour and wish to include Barbados (SoupBowl) as a possible event site.
There are 10 surfers from ALAS that have confirmed their participation including the ALAS champion Martin Passeri from Argentina, other countries that will be represented through ALAS are Peru, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Urugay, Panama, Argentina and Puerto Rico.

Surfers can enter on-line dead line for pre-registration is Oct 25th,any entries received after 25th will be subject to availability of slots. Payment may be made at The New Edgewater on Thursday Nov 2nd between 1-7pm.
