The Moskito Tour landed on the Playa de Somo beach, near Santander, Spain, on 28th July. Presented by Electric, Globe, FCS and Santa Cruz, the latest Moskito Tour stop, hosted by the Special Surf School and Escuela Cantabra de Surf, was a great success.
With just under 50 groms entering the event and great swell conditions, this leg of the contest was amazing. The contest began at 9am in excellent 1ft/2ft surf. A combination of perfect waves and motivated competitors made for some exciting 20-minute heats. The young surfers showed a great level of surfing with really powerful maneuvers and solid performances.
At 4pm, the groms final culminated the contest with high levels of riding. All finalists demonstrated a great level in surfing and their names are likely to keep cropping up on the circuit.
Big thanks go out to all the guys from the surf clubs who helped out during the event.
