MARC LACOMARE’S 2013 MASTERPLAN

Left to right: Marco, his filmer JoJo Craps and Morroco’s Ramzi Boukhiam on a quick freesurf mission to the Canaries.

This year Surf Europe will be keeping a close eye on Capbreton’s fave goofy footer Marc Lacomare and his performances as he tries to step his act up a notch or two. After taking a couple years off the competitive circuit to be able to focus on free surf projects, Marco has now decided to return to the full-time grind of the WQS tour starting with the Toyota Pro 6-star event in Newcastle, Australia. But despite his main focus shifting back to the pro circuit, the powerful goofyfooter still hopes to put together an ambitions two-part video project this year.

You just left for the Canaries for your new video project. Can you tell us a bit about it?

This year I’m planning to put out two big online video sections. The first will be released around May/June time and the second towards the end of the year. For this trip to the Canaries I went with Ramzi. After that I’d like to try to get some footage from Australia, especially West Oz. And then maybe Mexico, Indo and some stuff at home of course.

With only two video parts in the year, Marco will be able to be more selective with his footage. The Canaries doing their thing.

How do you expect to standout from the half-dozen or so online video clip that are uploaded on a daily basis?

Rather than make ten clips throughout the year, we’ve decided to focus on quality over quantity and just make two. On top of that, we’re also hoping to have two filmers available at each session – one who’ll shoot from land and the other from the water so that the action is shot from different angles and therefore more dynamic. And we’re also hoping to shoot some of the action with the Red Epic and even maybe get a little aerial footage. We’ll see how we go. I’m very thankful to my sponsors Monster Energy, DC and Nixon for their support on this project. And of course thanks to you guys for helping promote the new project and providing a little insight into the locations and other surfers involved in the project.
espères tu sortir du lot en terme de contenu par rapport aux dizaines de vidéos que l’on voit tous les jours sur le net?

Fellow free shred companion Ramzi and Marco.

Are you still continuing with the French Connexion crew?

Yep, I’ll still be doing some stuff with them but my main focus is now to qualify for the world tour and to put out those two clips. This year I’ve decided to work with surf coach Yann Martin who’ll be coming to all the important QS comps with me. We just arrived in Australia for the first one in Newcastle. After that we’re off to the Goldie for a couple of days and then it’s out to West Oz for the Margaret comp.

Nice. Good luck with that and be sure to let us know how you get on.
