The Kustom-Jetty Surf Surf Pro Junior, presented by Von Zipper and Nixon, will be held at Victoria’s Bells Beach from January 8 -14th to kick off the 2007 ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series. The event prize pool of $30,000 makes it the richest event on the pro junior surfing calendar outside of the annual Billabong World Junior Championships.
It is contested across three divisions, with the 8 star rated Pro Junior Boys offering a record Australasian purse of $25,000, the 4 star rated Pro Junior Girls offering a purse of $4,000 and the Cadet (Under-16 Boys) offering $1,000. Both the Pro Junior Boys and Pro Junior Girls divisions are the highest rated ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series events for 2007.
The event is expected to attract a who’s who of the region’s junior surfing ranks as it is the first event on the 2007 ASP Australasian junior series. It also kicks off immediately on the heels of the 2006 World Junior Championships in Sydney, ensuring the leading international juniors are in the country and available to compete.
“With junior surfing getting stronger and stronger the Kustom Jetty Surf Pro Junior promises to be the premier event of the Australian junior circuit,” said Jetty Surf marketing manager Wylie Fowler.
Entry to the event closes on December 11 and your ASP Australasia Membership for 2007 must be paid by December 11 to receive your seeding.
