Things haven’t been going Joel Parkinson’s way this year. He lost a $600k investment when rugby league team the Gold Coast Titans went bust in February, then he lost his ability to glide effortlessly through the early rounds of world tour events, and yesterday insult was added to injury when he lost his balance on the back of the jet ski — before losing his Round 2 heat to rookie Keanu Asing. We’re sure he’ll recover both his money, his heat-winning ability and his balance in due course. (Scroll down for more highlights from yesterday.)
Round 3 is live at the time of writing. Kelly and ratings leader Adriano are already out, also losing to rookies (Matt Banting and Ricardo Christie respectively), but John John and Toledo are through, the former pulling a rodeo for a 9, the latter sticking a frontside full rote for an 8.
