After a delayed start due to fading swell and high tide conditions it was Jeremy Flores who won the battle of the Euros knocking out Marc Lacomare and also Ramzi Boukhaim in the first heat of the day. He advanced alongside former WT surfer Damien Hobgood.
Yadin Nicol, one of yesterday’s top performers, also went out after a last minute exchange with Jonathan Gonzales getting the score he needed to jump from 3rd to 1st.
Torrey Meister continued his roll and is definitely on form. The Hawaiian busted out a 9 point opening ride for a clean full rotation air reverse to control his heat.

After yesterday’s performance all eyes were on Filipe Toledo and he didn’t disappoint. The Brazilian controlled his heat with a variety of fin throws and clean tail high air reverses. Another young surfer who stood out was Jack Freestone who locked numerous air reverses to make his heat win look easy.
Other Europeans still in the event include Portugal’s Frederico Morais, Marlon Lipke and Tiago Pires.
