Hurley Team Welcomes Rising Star Evan Geiselman

Hurley is excited to welcome young talent, Evan Geiselman, to its expanding surf team. A rising star from New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Evan is light and quick in the water, and has great timing and technique.

With a style similar to fellow Hurley team rider and surfing icon, Rob Machado, Evan is a leader in an impressive group of young new faces that is sure to change surfing for years to come. Nicknamed “Lil’ EG,” Evan was born in 1993 in Daytona Beach, Florida and began surfing at the age of 7. Now at 13, Evan’s natural ability has taken him to competitions across the country, one of which included a 5th place win at the recent Billabong Pro Jr. in his home state.

“We’re thrilled to have Evan join the Hurley team,” said Pat O’Connell, surf marketing manager, Hurley. “This new group of riders reminds me of the Momentum generation – at only 13 years old, Evan is driven, ambitious and is already competing against kids who are years older than him. I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do.”

“I am really excited to be a part of the Hurley team,” said Evan. “Hurley has been so welcoming and I already feel like a part of the group. I’m really looking forward to getting to know the other guys on the team and improving my surfing.”

Evan – a goofy footer who lists Macaroni’s as his favorite surf spot, and Joel Parkinson and Kelly Slater as his inspirations – comes from a family of surfers. His brother is currently on his way to becoming a professional in the sport; his dad competed in surf contests and now shapes surfboards; and his mum surfs and can be found at every event, cheering and supporting both kids as they chase their dreams.

“I love when we bring new talent into the Hurley family and help them achieve their goals,” said Bob Hurley, CEO, Hurley. “We’re looking forward to watching Evan grow as an individual and as an athlete.”
