Current World number 6 and highest ranked rookie on the ASP Men’s World Tour, Ben Dunn, has today launched his new website bendunn.com. The site was set up to give viewers more insight into Ben and what makes him tick, as well provide a detailed path on how Ben came to win 2 World Junior Titles, an Australasian Junior Series Title and qualify for the Fosters ASP Men’s World Tour all by the age of 20.
A unique feature of the site showcases footage of Ben surfing at age 12, 15, 17 and 19. The intention here is to highlight Ben’s progression and enable kids, hoping to make a career out of competitive surfing, to compare their surfing to where Ben was at the same age.
The site also includes a ‘Ben’s Blog’ section which will be a collection of thoughts and stories from Ben’s life on tour that will be updated every few weeks. There is also a full bio, a ‘Career History’ section, a ‘News’ section, a ‘Coaching’ section and a ‘Gallery’ section that includes photos and video footage.
Ben said: “I’ve always wanted to have my own website. I wanted to make it informative about what I’m doing but also make it a tool that kids can use to help them reach their dreams of one day qualifying for the ASP World Tour and maybe become a World Champion. I’m going to be adding and updating new photos throughout the year and hopefully get some more video clips on there too.”
Ben headed to Tahiti earlier this week to prepare for the Billabong Pro at Teahupoo where he is looking to continue his great start to the 2007 Tour. When asked what we can expect from him for the rest of the year, Ben answered: “I prepare myself as well as I can to get the best possible result at every event I enter. If I can keep my consistency going, I think I can finish close to the top of the ratings in my 1st year. That’s the goal anyway.”
