Animal are pleased to announce that in partnership with Rye Watersports, the Animal Tarifa Academy (ATA) will be opening from 1st January 2007. The ATA will specialise in providing ‘hassle free’ holidays in kitesurfing and windsurfing to the ‘wind capital of Europe’. Tarifa has over 300 days of wind per year so is the ideal location for Animal’s Academy.

Rye Watersports has been providing watersport courses and training since 1986 and have been running kitesurfing holidays to Tarifa for the last three years. The ATA will be equipped with all the latest kit ready and rigged along with instructors who have intimate local knowledge to take customers to the beach with the best conditions each day. The ATA is open to kitesurfers and windsurfers of all abilities from first timers through to more experienced. The academy will be running a range of pro rider camp weeks giving kitesurfers and windsurfers the chance to rip it up with Animal pro team riders Kirsty jones, Timo Mullen, Jo Ciastula and Sam Neal. The format and emphasis on these exclusive camps will vary week to week and will range from specific wave riding sessions through to girl only camps.

Taking advantage of its unique location the ASA will also be offering SURFari’s to the coast of Morocco on board a 40ft yacht. These trips will combine cruising the ocean waves along with kitesurfing secluded Moroccan beaches accessible only by boat. For those people wanting to combine their water action with some land based activities the ATA will also be running Mountain Bike trips throughout the stunning Los Alcornacelales National Park.

Animal will also be opening a 250m2 store alongside the academy which will be fully stocked with Animal clothing, luggage and accessories.
