Manoa Drollet Steals Final of Air Tahiti Nui / Von Zipper Trials
The ASP Trials Event to secure the last highly coveted spots for the Billabong Pro took place in Teahupoo, Tahiti this weekend.
Tahitian gun Manoa Drollet has defeated Anthony Walsh (AUS, Lennox Head) in a blockbuster final of the Air Tahiti Nui Von Zipper Trials at Teahupoo.
On the last ridden wave of the final Drollet pulled into a heaving tube to claim a 9.6 out of 10 and the final. Walsh was sitting on a perfect 10 & 8.57, but it was not enough stop the local charger from taking the trials title. Both surfers will progress into the main event, the Billabong Pro presented by Air Tahiti Nui, May 4th to 14th.
