Also in attendance were Garrett McNamara, Andrew Cotton, Sebastian Steudnter, Hugo Vao, Tom Butler, Eric Rebiere, Rodrigo Coxa, Antonio Silva and Ross Clarke-Jones. Between them they suffered broken boards, broken jet skis and very nearly broken bodies.

Silva, pictured above, had a particularly lucky escape after this veritable monster of a right-hander. His tow partner lost their ski, leaving Antonio caught inside and heading towards the rocks, where he would probably have come to a sticky end were it not for the timely intervention of Garrett McNamara.
