“Based on the north side of Lanzarote, perched out on the Macaronesian archipelago’s lava outcroppings and staring into the full maw of Atlantic storm action, a shortage of swell is hardly an issue”
Winter means different things to different folk, of course. A relative term if ever there was one. For most of us, an ideal time to bolt south to warmer climes and score waves with a maximum of punch and a minimum of rubber.
For Canarian locals like RVCA Advocate Manuel Lezcano, well it’s an entirely different proposition altogether. Based on the north side of Lanzarote, perched out on the Macaronesian archipelago’s lava outcroppings and staring into the full maw of Atlantic storm action, a shortage of swell is hardly an issue.
Less of a given are clement winds, the sought-after break from howling NE trades and pleasant puffs from the south, grooming waves like El Quemao into offshore, Pipe-like perfection.
“Pipe-like?” you say, “for reals?”.
